Job summary

Citigroup seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its Technology team and help design, build, and optimize platforms powering global operations. You will apply deep expertise across CI/CD, container orchestration, cloud infrastructure, and observability to deliver resilient software systems across a complex tech environment.

You will design pipelines with Git/Tekton/Harness, manage Kubernetes/OpenShift workloads with Helm, and build monitoring with Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years of experience in software engineering, systems development, or DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling, including Git-based workflows, pipeline configuration, and automated build and deployment processes.
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift for container orchestration, including Helm chart development and cluster management.
• Working knowledge of Linux administration and shell scripting to support automation, system configuration, and operational tasks.
• Experience delivering and managing software projects end-to-end, from planning and design through to testing and production deployment.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and adapting to changing technical or business requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using Git, Tekton, and Harness to accelerate and standardize software delivery across engineering teams.
• Build and manage containerized workloads on Kubernetes and OpenShift using Helm, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and production ready.
• Architect and maintain observability solutions - including log aggregation with Splunk and Elastic/Kibana, and metrics monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana - to give engineering teams real-time visibility into system health.
• Evaluate complex technical problems across application systems, business processes, and delivery pipelines, and develop engineering solutions that meet specific business requirements.
• Collaborate with development teams, business users, and technology stakeholders to define operating standards, resolve technical issues, and recommend engineering improvements.
• Develop and enforce security measures across the software delivery lifecycle, ensuring system design supports compliance with applicable policies and technical standards.
• Act as a technical authority for junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance, code review, and hands-on support to elevate team capability.
