About the Role

Our client, a rapidly expanding software development company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to bolster their technical operations in Randburg, Gauteng . This is a hybrid position, offering the flexibility to work both remotely and from our modern office premises in Randburg . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation strategies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of our software systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud platforms, containerization, infrastructure as code, and system monitoring. You will collaborate closely with development and operations teams to streamline workflows and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for automated build, testing, and deployment. Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible). Set up and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems. Ensure system security and implement best practices for vulnerability management. Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues. Develop and document operational procedures and best practices. Mentor junior DevOps engineers and share technical expertise.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles. Strong proficiency with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Extensive experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell). Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI). Solid understanding of networking concepts, security principles, and system administration. Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, essential for a hybrid team environment.
