Job summary

Insolvency Service, in partnership with Inspire People, is recruiting a Senior DevOps Engineer to shape cloud engineering for critical public services and support our transition to a fully in‑house DevOps capability. Our Digital Services team has recently moved from a third‑party DevOps model to in‑house engineering.

Based in the UK with hybrid and flexible working, the salary ranges nationally from £48,429 to £52,222, with a discretionary Recruitment & Retention allowance up to £11,000.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive experience in a similar role using Microsoft Azure.
• Significant CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) or TFS.
• Extensive experience creating, maintaining and monitoring Azure PaaS and IaaS resources.
• Demonstrable experience running multiple applications across multiple environments in a large enterprise.
• Expert-level experience writing and maintaining Bicep infrastructure as code.
• Active Security Clearance or commitment to gaining clearance within the first six months.

Salary: £50,000 - 50,000 per year

Requirements:

• Extensive experience in a similar role using Microsoft Azure
• Significant CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) or Team Foundation Server (TFS)
• Extensive experience creating, maintaining and monitoring Azure PaaS and IaaS resources
• Demonstrable experience running multiple applications across multiple environments in a large enterprise
• Expert-level experience writing and maintaining Bicep infrastructure as code
• Active Security Clearance or commitment to gaining clearance within the first six months of joining
• Desirable: experience using Terraform to build, manage and maintain infrastructure as code
• Desirable: experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments or integrations
• Desirable: experience using PowerShell to automate deployment, configuration, monitoring or operational tasks
• Desirable: experience developing or supporting applications using C#/.NET
• Desirable: experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate or related services
