Job summary

CACI Limited, via its Information Intelligence Group (IIG) in the UK, seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to join agile teams on national security or central government projects. You will work on complex programmes building bespoke software solutions.

Responsibilities include designing and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, deploying and scaling Kubernetes, implementing automation, security and cost optimization, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

  • Experience in DevOps roles on large-scale cloud-based projects.
  • Proven ability to design and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Experience with Kubernetes deployment and cluster management.
  • Strong collaboration, communication and mentoring skills.
  • Eligibility for high level security clearance (British passport holder).

Job description

We are the Information Intelligence Group (IIG) of CACI UK, a specialist software consultancy providing new bespoke solutions to solve our customers complex operational problems. As our business continues to grow, we are interested in speaking with an experienced Devops Engineer to join one of our live projects in either our National Security or Central Government teams.

The Role:

Due to continued and sustained growth, we are looking for a Devops Engineer to join an Agile engineering team to work on a large complex programme of work for one of our customers, building a new bespoke software solution. You will be involved in:

  • Designing, implementing and maintaining cloud infrastructure on AWS.
  • Deploying, scaling, and managing Kubernetes clusters. Familiarity with related technologies such as Docker and Helm.
  • Developing and implementing automated tools and processes for building, deployment, monitoring, testing and maintenance of infrastructure and applications
  • Developing and maintaining policies and procedures for security, compliance, and disaster recovery
  • Optimise infrastructure for high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency
  • Continuously monitor and improve infrastructure and application performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues
  • Manage and mentor junior DevOps engineers
The Fit:

We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, multi-tasker, and demonstrated team-player. You will have previous experience in a devops focussed role, able to play an active role in the development of new software products and enhancements to existing products. You will be excited about working with large-scale applications and frameworks and have outstanding communication and leadership skills. We are interested in speaking with candidates with experience in some of the following:

  • Developing and deploying secure products using appropriate technology and patterns
  • Familiarity with key cloud concepts and technologies
  • Designing and operating highly available shared solutions
  • Working in agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
  • Working with high-level stakeholders -both internally and externally.
  • Exposure to the some of the following technologies: Gitlab, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Packer, Vault, Serverless, Elastic Stack, Prometheus, Grafana, Artifactory & Nexus

Due to nature of the sector this role, you will be required to undertake high level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British passport holder and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
