Job summary

Primer, a remote-first infrastructure company, seeks an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to own the internal developer platform, CI/CD, and production reliability. You will build tooling that enables engineers to work alongside AI agents, measure delivery, and reduce friction across teams.

You’ll join a distributed team, own on-call rotations, and shape standards for services and internal APIs while pushing for fast, safe, automated workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong cloud infrastructure experience (AWS preferred; GCP also considered).
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience.
• Infrastructure-as-code tooling experience (Terraform preferred; other IaC tools acceptable).
• CI/CD end-to-end ownership and architecture.
• Ability to measure and improve delivery using standard frameworks.
• Comfort with production systems and on-call responsibilities.
• Solid software engineering background, not just tooling.
• Strong async communication in a remote, distributed team.

Responsibilities

• Own Primer's internal developer platform end to end: CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, self-service tooling, and episodic environments.
• Build the human-AI development loop and tooling to enable engineers to work with coding agents safely and efficiently.
• Treat developer productivity as a measurable system and ship improvements based on data.
• Take real operational ownership and participate in on-call rotations for reliability.
• Collaborate with product teams to improve tooling, frameworks, and internal APIs used daily.
• Create standardized, minimal boilerplate and golden-path tooling for faster feature work across teams.
• Work openly across a fully distributed team with transparent decision-making.
