Job summary

Mansfield District Council is seeking a Principal Development Management Officer to lead major and complex planning applications, guide developers and stakeholders, and shape sustainable growth in line with the Local Plan and regeneration priorities.

You’ll also develop and manage a skilled team, support senior leaders in setting strategic direction, and represent the council at committees and inquiries as required. This is a senior role with significant impact on Mansfield’s future.

Qualifications

• Qualified planner with experience in handling complex planning applications.
• Experience negotiating outcomes with stakeholders.
• Ability to lead and develop a team.
• Understanding of Local Plan and regeneration priorities.
• Willingness to contribute to strategic planning decisions.
