Job summary

Mansfield District Council is seeking a Principal Development Management Officer to lead on major and high-profile planning applications across the district. You’ll guide developers and stakeholders, ensure sustainable growth aligns with the Local Plan, and help shape Mansfield’s future.

You’ll also support and develop a dedicated team, work with senior leaders to set strategic direction, and represent the council at committees and public forums.

Qualifications

• Qualified planner (or working towards chartered status).
• Experience in handling complex planning applications.
• Ability to work with developers and stakeholders to deliver high quality schemes.
• Leadership experience to guide a team and shape strategic direction.

As our Principal Development Management Officer, you’ll play a leading role in delivering high quality development across the district. You’ll take ownership of complex and high profile planning applications, guide developers and stakeholders, and help ensure sustainable growth that aligns with our long term ambitions.

You’ll also support and develop a dedicated team, helping build capability and driving performance, while working closely with senior leaders to shape the strategic direction of development management.
