Job summary

University of the Arts London (UAL) is seeking a Senior Developer to deliver new digital functionality across core university web products. You will develop with PHP, JavaScript, HTML and related technologies in a user‑centred, Agile setting.

You’ll work with CMSs like Drupal, WordPress, Craft and Laravel, implement WCAG 2.2 accessibility guidance, and collaborate with stakeholders to identify requirements and modernise our tech stack.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building websites and web apps with PHP 8+ and MySQL.
• Strong JavaScript/HTML/CSS with AJAX/JSON usage.
• Experience with CMS/frameworks: Drupal, WordPress, Craft, Laravel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver new digital functionality and web development support for UAL’s products.
• Design and build foundational systems to modernise the tech stack.

Focused on delivering new digital functionality and web development support for UAL's digital products, which include student information and booking services, the main university website, student portfolio and showcase platforms, using PHP, JavaScript, HTML and related technologies.You will work with UAL's core content management systems, collaborating with development teams in Digital & Technology, to produce new functionality and services across a range of exciting digital products.You will be instrumental in designing and building foundational systems to reduce and realign our tech stack and help modernise ways of working.
