Job summary

Computacenter AG & Co. oHG is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Developer to join the Group Information Services team in Hatfield. The role focuses on configuring and developing ServiceNow solutions used across Computacenter and its customers in a 24/7 environment.

The candidate will work within an ITIL-aligned framework, collaborating with technical, operational and business teams to deliver robust, secure, and scalable functionality while reducing risk and cost. Hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' proven experience as a ServiceNow Developer or Consultant on medium to large-scale ServiceNow platforms.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow development and configuration best practices.
• Extensive experience in IT Service Management environments with ITIL principles.
• Hands-on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow solutions translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience in a SaaS environment and working with Agile delivery teams.
• Excellent communication skills for stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to own technical and business issues.
• Ability to mentor less experienced developers and promote best practices.
• Security-conscious development within enterprise platforms.

Life on the team

We are looking for a Senior ServiceNow Developer to join our Group Information Services team at Computacenter. This is an excellent opportunity to join a thriving Service Management Systems team, working on critical 24/7 ServiceNow platforms used by Computacenter, our customers and third parties around the world.

You will be part of the ServiceNow Build team, responsible for configuring and developing ServiceNow solutions that enable Computacenter to deliver, measure, manage and continually improve IT infrastructure support services. Working within an ITIL-aligned environment, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, standardised and repeatable solutions that meet business and customer requirements while reducing risk and cost.

You will work closely with technical, operational and business teams to deliver new functionality and enhance existing solutions in a dynamic environment, following Computacenter standards, processes and development best practice.

What you’ll do

• Perform a complex range of ServiceNow development and configuration activities to meet business and customer requirements.
• Design, develop, configure and enhance ServiceNow functionality, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable, secure and aligned with best practice.
• Deliver new functionality and enhancements to existing applications through configuration and development.
• Work as part of an Agile delivery team to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Collaborate with the Operate team and other GIS teams to analyse, document and report on development activities and completed work.
• Ensure all development and configuration activities follow Computacenter standards, processes, security requirements and ServiceNow best practice.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of standardised and repeatable ServiceNow solutions that can be deployed effectively across customers and environments.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical and business issues, taking full ownership through to resolution.
• Support the delivery of high-quality solutions through appropriate development, testing, documentation and implementation processes.
• Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation to understand requirements, identify appropriate solutions and communicate technical information effectively.
• Provide specialist technical guidance and advice to less experienced colleagues, promoting consistent approaches and adherence to design, coding and development standards.
• Act as a technical role model, demonstrating strong technical and behavioural competencies.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and dynamic team environments while maintaining a consistent and effective contribution.
• Identify and report potential or actual security events and risks in accordance with Computacenter Information Security Policies.

What you’ll need

• A minimum of 5 years' proven experience working as a ServiceNow Developer or Consultant on medium to large-scale ServiceNow platforms.
• Strong understanding of ServiceNow development and configuration best practices.
• Extensive experience working within IT Service Management environments and a strong understanding of ITIL principles.
• Strong hands-on experience developing and configuring ServiceNow solutions, with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Experience working within a SaaS environment.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and within collaborative delivery teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
• Strong organisational skills with a meticulous, structured and methodical approach to delivery.
• Demonstrable ability to take full ownership of technical and business issues and drive them through to resolution.
• Ability to provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced developers and colleagues.
• A strong understanding of security principles and the importance of secure development within enterprise platforms.
• Experience with ServiceNow Field Service Management (FSM) would be desirable.
• Experience with the ServiceNow Security Incident module would be desirable.
• Experience with ServiceNow HR Service Management (HRSD) would be desirable.
