Job summary

Isle of Anglesey County Council is seeking a skilled tourism development professional to lead the promotion of Anglesey as a sustainable visitor destination. The role focuses on delivering the Destination Management Plan and working with partners to stimulate economic growth while protecting local communities.

You will engage with community groups, private and third sector partners, and influence stakeholders to deliver projects that showcase Anglesey’s culture, heritage and natural assets.

M anage and co - ordinate the development and promotion of Anglesey as a sustainable tourism destination through the effective delivery of the Destination Management Plan (DMP) to support and strengthen the I sland’s visitor economy.
The role demands knowledge, awareness and understanding of the I sland’s opportunities and constraints in relation to tourism and destination development, whilst also protecting and enhancing the needs of host communities and the key qualities of the island in terms of culture, heritage and nature.
The post requires influencing and negotiating skills to help build an active relationship with the Destination Anglesey Partnership (DAP), ensuring a full public , including specifically with community groups , private and third sector approach to developing projects and marketing Anglesey as a visitor destination to stimulate economic development and promote sustainable growth.
