Job summary

Orlaroseassociates in London invites applications for a Desktop & Infrastructure Engineer on a 6-month fixed-term contract with possible extension. The role is based in our London office (Moorgate/Liverpool Street) reporting to Head of Infrastructure and focusing on high-quality desktop support and infrastructure stability.

You will act as senior technical escalation for 1st/2nd-line issues, manage Microsoft 365, Windows, AD and Entra ID, and work closely with security and business stakeholders

Qualifications

• 3+ years in desktop & infrastructure engineering or similar
• Broad knowledge of Microsoft desktop/server/cloud technologies
• Experience with Windows 10/11, M365, AD and Entra ID
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Wi‑Fi
• Experience with endpoint management and patching tools
• Knowledge of virtualization, backup, monitoring and DR
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with ticketing and incident/change management processes
• Experience supporting senior stakeholders and executives
• PowerShell or automation experience

Responsibilities

• Act as escalation point for complex 2nd/3rd‑line desktop and infrastructure issues
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, connectivity and performance problems
• Provide responsive and professional desktop support to employees and senior stakeholders
• Administer and support Microsoft 365, Windows, Active Directory and Entra ID environments
• Support endpoint configuration, software deployment, patching and device management
• Maintain servers, networks, virtual environments, storage and cloud services
• Monitor infrastructure availability, capacity, performance and security
• Support backup, recovery, antivirus and business‑continuity processes
• Manage user access, permissions and security controls in line with company policies
• Support meeting‑room technology, mobile devices and remote‑access solutions
• Own incidents through to resolution and undertake root‑cause analysis for recurring issues
• Maintain accurate asset records, technical documentation and operational procedures
• Liaise with third‑party suppliers and technology partners
• Support infrastructure changes, upgrades and improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, security and the overall user experience
• Provide wider desktop and operational IT support when required
