Job summary

Jacobs is recruiting a Senior Design Manager in the UK water sector to lead multidisciplinary design teams on major water and wastewater programmes. You will coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process and construction disciplines to deliver coordinated, buildable designs ready for delivery and commissioning.

You will own design scope, programme, interfaces and assurance, working with project managers and client stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain momentum.

Qualifications

• Technical leadership in the design and project management of large-scale infrastructure programmes.
• Expertise in multidisciplinary engineering and construction integration.
• Experience with NEC3/4 contract and change control processes.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations and processes.
• Strong communication to explain complex issues to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary detailed design teams across major water and wastewater programmes.
• Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process and construction teams for buildable designs.
• Own design scope, programme, interfaces, assurance and change with project managers and construction teams.
• Challenge designs to improve value, standardisation and whole-life performance; ensure CDM and NEC compliance.
• Mentor staff, develop the business and build trusted client relationships.
