Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams across major UK water and wastewater programmes. You will coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and process disciplines to deliver buildable designs ready for delivery and commissioning.

You will build high-performing teams, mentor staff and take ownership of design scope, interfaces and assurance. The role requires driving value, standardisation and whole-life performance while addressing CDM and NEC

Qualifications

• Experience leading design teams on large-scale infrastructure programmes.
• Proven ability to integrate civil, structural, mechanical, electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of NEC contract and change control processes.
• Familiarity with CDM regulations and safety requirements.
• Demonstrated problem-solving for complex projects.
• Ability to mentor and develop teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary detailed design teams for major water and wastewater programmes.
• Own design scope, programme, interfaces, assurance and change.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams and clients to resolve issues.
• Mentor staff and develop business through opportunities.
• Challenge designs to improve value, standardisation and life-cycle performance.
