Job summary

3D Personnel Ltd on behalf of a leading Tier 1 main contractor is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join their regional construction team on South Coast projects. You will lead design from pre-construction through handover, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to ensure integrated solutions.

The role requires strong BIM, design coordination, and regulatory knowledge, with progression into senior leadership and a track record on defence/education/healthcare projects.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or experienced Design Manager.
• Experience on Tier 1 or established main contractor projects.
• Experience on defence, education, healthcare, commercial or public-sector developments.
• Excellent knowledge of Building Regulations and CDM requirements.
• Strong design coordination and information management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management from pre-construction through handover.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and consultants.
• Develop and manage design programmes and information release schedules.
• Oversee design development across RIBA stages.
• Identify design risks and drive value engineering opportunities.
• Chair design coordination meetings and technical reviews.
• Manage design changes and consultant performance.
• Mentor junior Design Managers and promote standards.
