Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Design Manager to lead the engineering design delivery for major Transmission HV substation projects in London and the South. Based in Kentish Town, you will coordinate multiple disciplines and manage design information to CDM 2015 requirements.

You will engage at tender and EC stages, allocating resources and liaising with internal teams to ensure timely and compliant design submissions.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multi-disciplinary design packages.
• Experience as Principal Designer Representative under CDM 2015.
• Delivery of substation projects for UK Transmission Operators is desirable.
• UK Engineering institute membership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design delivery of HV substation projects (132/275/400kV).
• Lead design management at tender/ECI stages and allocate resources.
• Integrate HV Plant, Protection & Control and Civils disciplines.
• Ensure design information is properly managed under CDM 2015 constraints.
• Review design packs for technical compliance and quality.
• Monitor procurement-related design issues with the procurement function.
• Comment on consultants’ payment applications.
