Job summary

Sweco UK Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our Mission Critical team in the UK. You will lead the design management of major data centre projects across Europe, owning complex coordination across multidisciplinary teams and guiding stakeholders to deliver critical infrastructure for demanding clients.

You will oversee design strategy, planning and delivery, drive risk management and interface coordination, and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in design management, preferably for critical infrastructure or data centres.
• Strong leadership and ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management on complex, high-value Mission Critical projects.
• Oversee coordination of multidisciplinary design teams across project stages.
• Act as primary contact for clients, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Drive design strategy, planning and delivery to meet programme and commercial objectives.
• Lead design reviews, coordination meetings and interface management.
• Identify, manage and mitigate design risks, changes and dependencies.
• Support and mentor Design Managers and team members.
• Contribute to bid strategy, project planning and business development activities.
• Help improve design management systems and best practices across the team.
