Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment (UK) Limited is seeking a Senior Design Manager for a market-leading main contractor in Hertfordshire. The role covers early feasibility, procurement design management, and on-site coordination.

You will oversee external consultants on projects around £20m+, liaising between design teams, clients and site delivery, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance while driving the process to meet timelines. Hybrid work with three days on site.

Qualifications

7-10 years' experience in a design management role for a Main Contractor.
Experience across Education, Leisure, Commercial, Healthcare, Life Science.
Leadership in coordinating external consultants and design teams.

Responsibilities

Oversee technical compliance and design management across projects.
Monitor on-site design coordination and performance of external consultants on c£20m+ projects.
Liaise between design team, client and on-site delivery team.
Ensure technical accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
Drive efficient design process aligned with project timelines and commercial targets.
