Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team in the UK. The role focuses on managing design teams, controlling design deliverables, and coordinating with consultants and contractors to ensure project success.

The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail and a solid understanding of BIM processes, with responsibility for design programme, documentation control and liaison with stakeholders throughout the construction lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of BIM processes, procedures and software.
• Experience of Viewpoint or equivalent.
• Experience in the use of full MS Office suite.
• Experience in working with Document Control.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process using commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise.
• Review tender opportunities and value engineering.
• Engage with external consultant and sub-contractor design teams.
• Prepare and monitor the Design Information Release Schedule and Design Programme.
• Lead and chair design team meetings and design coordination workshops.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders to build relationships.
