Job summary

Unknown is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead design across complex building remediation and refurbishment projects in a hybrid UK environment. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams from pre-construction through delivery and ensure designs are compliant, buildable and commercially viable.

You will drive Gateway processes, manage Golden Thread records and provide technical leadership to clients, architects and engineers. A strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act is essential.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in design management for refurbishment/remediation projects.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and coordinating consultants.
• Strong knowledge of Building Safety Act and Gateway process.
• Role requires good client/stakeholder communication and commercial awareness.
• Chartered status is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design management process across multiple refurbishment and remediation projects.
• Coordinate architects, structural and fire engineers, and consultants throughout the design lifecycle.
• Lead Gateway 2 submissions and support projects through Gateway 3 approval.
• Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act and Building Regulator requirements.
• Manage Golden Thread information and maintain accurate technical records.
• Attend client and consultant meetings, providing technical leadership and updates.
• Develop practical and buildable design solutions and monitor design risks.
