Job summary

Talk Recruitment is seeking a Design Manager / Senior Design Manager for Middlesbrough in the North East. You will oversee design across preconstruction and delivery stages, manage consultants, and coordinate with development and delivery teams on multiple sectors including Commercial, Mixed Use and Residential.

This role offers a mix of office, site and remote working, with opportunities to progress within a reputable tier 1 contractor.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building Sector.
• Previous employment as a Design Co-ordinator, D&B Co-ordinator, D&B Manager or Design Manager.
• Previous experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, MOJ, Industrial, Education or Healthcare.
• Previous Main Contractor employment.
• High level of communication skills.
• Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).

Responsibilities

• Oversee design across preconstruction and construction stages.
• Manage appointments and relationships with consultants and sub-contractors.
• Coordinate design reviews and identify design risks and opportunities.
• Ensure design aligns with development and delivery teams.
• Support business in securing new work through design excellence.
