Job summary

Talk Recruitment is seeking a Senior Design Manager / Technical Manager to lead design coordination on Building Sector projects. The role involves guidance across Commercial, Residential, and PRS developments, with a mix of remote work and site visits in Bristol and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a design background, and experience on a range of building projects. The position offers career progression and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building Sector.
• Experience as Design Co-ordinator / D&B Coordinator / D&B Manager / Design Manager.
• Experience on Building Sector projects: Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Student accommodation, Hotels, etc.
• Preferably Main Contractor background but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead design coordination across building sector projects.
• Interface with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure design intent and buildability.
• Manage design team and interface with project managers to maintain programme and budget.

My client is a leading building contractor, with a busy and fast growing workload.
As a result of securing further new projects, this employer is looking to strengthen their team further with the appointment of a Senior Design Manager / Technical Manager to work on a range of Building Sector projects.

REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this Design Manager role you must meet the following criteria:

• Knowledge of Building Sector.
• Previous employment as a Design Co-ordinator, D&B Coordinator, D&B Manager, Design Manager. Architecture or Design Engineering backgrounds also considered.
• Previous experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education or Healthcare.
• Ideally previous Main Contractor employment but not essential.
• High level of communication skills.
• Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
