Job summary

VolkerWessels UK is seeking a collaborative Senior Design Manager to lead design activities across major water and wastewater infrastructure schemes in the East Anglia region. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external consultants to deliver exceptional outcomes.

This role offers the chance to influence projects from concept through delivery, with a focus on buildability, value engineering and stakeholder engagement in a complex environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.
• Strong background in Design Management on major projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.
• Degree-level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent) or working towards professional accreditation.

As part of our growth within the Water sector, we will be delivering major water infrastructure projects across the East Anglia region. As such we have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and commercially aware Senior Design Manager who thrives in a complex project environment and enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes., As Senior Design Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in leading and coordinating all design activities across significant water and wastewater infrastructure schemes., Our preference is to hire directly, and we will reach out to our Preferred Supplier List (PSL) agencies if this particular role qualifies for release.
