Job summary

VolkerFitzpatrick is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead and coordinate design activities for major water and wastewater infrastructure schemes across East Anglia. The role requires a strong background in civil engineering, design management and experience leading multidisciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will drive buildability, value engineering and effective stakeholder engagement to deliver projects from concept through delivery, within a collaborative and safety‑compliant

• Extensive experience within civil engineering, infrastructure or water sector projects.
• Strong background in Design Management on major projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants.
• Excellent understanding of buildability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Strong programme management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and value engineering.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

As part of our growth within the Water sector, we will be delivering major water infrastructure projects across the East Anglia region. As such we have an exciting opportunity for a collaborative and commercially aware Senior Design Manager who thrives in a complex project environment and enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional outcomes, Our preference is to hire directly, and we will reach out to our Preferred Supplier List (PSL) agencies if this particular role qualifies for release.
