Job summary

HVSS - High Voltage Systems & Services Ltd is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead the technical output of the Design Engineers on challenging projects. You will mentor staff, ensure adherence to Health Safety Quality and Environment policies, and promote value engineering across the team.

You will design high voltage and low voltage systems, coach junior engineers, and approve design checks while managing cost and project spend within set limits.

Qualifications

• Experience of 11kV and LV design to high quality standards.
• Experience with earthing designs across multiple DNO regions.
• Proven track record of authorising design checks across multiple DNO regions.
• Demonstrable competency in practical electrical installations.
• Ability to communicate design requirements to clients, PMs and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Produce compliant designs per customer requirements and standards.
• Apply and train others on ENA, DNO & IDNO G81 design standards.
• Coach junior team members on client interactions and meetings.
• Process job cost estimates for variations and changes.
• Authorize project spends within DOAG limits and design checks for others.
• Promote value engineering and efficient ways of working.
• Maintain design standards and ensure compliance with policies.
• Ensure designs align with NERS accreditations and project finances.
