Job summary

HVSS - High Voltage Systems & Services Ltd is seeking a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to join our UK team. You’ll work on LV/11kV design, prepare construction and as-built drawings, support tendering and project managers, and ensure designs meet ENA, DNO & IDNO G81 standards.

You’ll be mentored by senior engineers and progress toward Incorporated Engineer status. Working hours are Monday to Friday, with 25 days holiday and a range of pension and health benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with LV/11kV design and principles; eagerness to learn EHV networks.
• Ability to prepare compliant designs to ENA, DNO/IDNO G81 standards.
• Strong communication with clients, project managers and site teams.
• Safety-focused: EUSR/CSCS/ECS and First Aid at Work (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Produce general arrangements, layouts, single line diagrams, submittals and reports.
• Support Senior Engineers with design calculations and value engineering.
• Assist Tendering Engineers and Project Managers with drawings and challenges.
• Create as-built drawings and ensure outputs are accurate and cost-conscious.
• Maintain design standards, drawing registers and technical documentation.
