Triumph Motorcycles Limited, the original British motorcycling company in Hinckley, seeks design engineers to lead CAD-based schemes and detailed component design for diverse motorcycle parts and accessories. Qualifications

• MEng or BEng in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
• Highly technical approach with strong attention to detail.
• Experienced in Mechanical Design Engineering communication and judgement.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently as experience grows.

Responsibilities

• Produce CAD scheme and detailed component designs across pressings, forgings, fabrications, machined parts, and assemblies.
• Drive work within engineering and manufacturing constraints and compliance.
• Create technical drawings to BS8888 and current industry standards.
• Liaise with stylists in early project phases and with other Triumph departments.
• Develop scheme drawings to validate integration of accessory equipment with OE components.
• Release and up-issue products through internal design change systems.
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Coordinate with UK and Thailand teams and external suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce scheme and detailed component design in CAD for a range of component / kit types including, but not limited to, pressings, forgings, fabrications, machined parts, injection mouldings and luggage.
• Drive the completion of work with full consideration given to all product, engineering, manufacturing and compliance constraints.
• Produce technical drawings to BS8888 & the latest industry standards.
• Liaise with stylists in the early phases of projects.
• Produce Scheme drawings to validate the integration of Accessory equipment with surrounding OE components.
• Release and up-issue products through the internal design change system.
• Create and manage Bill of Material Lists (BOMs).
• Liaise closely with other Triumph departments (in UK and Thailand), and external suppliers.

Skills & Experience Required:

• MEng or BEng in an Mechanical Engineering Subject
• Has a highly technical approach, with emphasis on attention to detail.
• Experienced in Mechanical Design Engineering.
• Ability to collaborate on technical judgement as required to get value added from more experienced staff, with emerging ability to work independently as experience increases.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday (39hrs per week.)
