Job summary

Triumph Motorcycles is seeking a Senior Design Engineer specializing in simulation, located in Hinckley. The role involves gear tooth design and supporting analysis work including FEA and CFD for motorcycle projects.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in FEA simulation including stress/fatigue analysis.
  • Familiarity with SMT MASTA and Creo Simulate is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gear tooth design and analysis for durability and noise optimization.
  • Deliver simulation work such as FEA and CFD for motorcycle design projects.
  • Document and maintain analysis methodologies and procedures.
  • Produce high-quality simulation modelling in collaboration with teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design practices.
  • Create technical documentation including reports and specifications.

We have an exciting opportunity within our simulation department for a senior Design engineer, to support NMIP projects. The role will focus on gear tooth design and simulation, with the opportunity to support wider analysis work (e.g. FEA/CFD) across chassis and powertrain systems. This role would suit a talented engineer with excellent analytical skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform gear tooth design and analysis, including durability and noise optimisation.
  • Deliver simulation work such as FEA, CFD and other analyses to support motorcycle design across new and existing projects.
  • Develop, maintain and document analysis methodologies and procedures.
  • Ensure consistent, high‑quality simulation modelling in collaboration with the wider simulation and vehicle teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design practices, tools and processes.
  • Produce technical documentation including reports, procedures, specifications and drawings.

Skills & Experience required:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • FEA simulation incl. stress/fatigue analysis (desirable)
  • SMT MASTA experience (advantage)
  • Creo Simulate FEA experience (advantage)

Hours of Work: Standard Design flexible working hours – 39 hours per week. Core hours 9am-4pm Mon-Thu, 9am-12pm Fri.
