Position Summary

The Senior Market Demand Planner is responsible for the total unconstrained demand forecast (baseline and promotional) in the SAP IBP tool for a Business Cluster comprising more than one market. They are supported by Market Demand Planners within the same cluster and work closely with Demand Planning Analysts. The Senior Market Demand Planner is responsible for challenging statistical forecasts and informing the Demand Planning Analyst when results are not considered reliable. They also propose historical data cleansing where necessary and collaborate with the Demand Planning Analyst to review trends and update forecasts accordingly.

As part of the S&OP process, they prepare and facilitate the Demand Management Review (DMR) and ensure that all key market functions understand and align with the total volume forecast. They are also responsible for securing validation and sign-off from the Business Director. The Senior Market Demand Planner must ensure that market processes and meetings remain aligned with global standards and processes.

The Senior Market Demand Planner participates in and supports the following planning processes:

• Weekly S&OE (Sales & Operations Execution) covering a 1-4 month planning horizon.

• Monthly S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) covering a 5-24 month planning horizon.

Key activities include

• S&OE Demand Control: monitoring month pacing and managing weekly forecast variances, risks, and opportunities.

• S&OP Demand Management Review (DMR).

They support the Senior Demand Planning Manager during Integrated Reconciliation (IR) for International MM by explaining the root causes of forecast deviations. They also maintain and complete various variance tracking reports and provide explanations for Sales versus Forecast performance.

The Senior Market Demand Planner remains focused on continuously improving forecast accuracy and reducing forecast bias, with the objective of maximizing sales, minimizing service issues, and balancing these outcomes against working capital targets.

In addition, the Senior Market Demand Planner drives execution within the market by partnering with commercial teams and customers, where appropriate, to develop the most effective planning approach and support business delivery. They also participate in Display Planning activities alongside the Supply Planning team.

The Senior Market Demand Planner provides guidance, coordination, and leadership to a team of Market Demand Planners within the same market cluster.

Responsibilities

Universal Accountabilities

• To support senior Demand Planning Manager and DP analysts by collaborating and sharing knowledge of historical events to filter and future gains and/or cannibalization impacts.

• To challenge local Marketing & Sales departments about market intelligence, to get to a realistic forecast:

• promotional forecast

• promotional display forecast

• information regarding distribution gains and losses

• information regarding new product launch forecast

• information regarding opportunities and risks

• To analyze and support a closed feedback loop with sales and marketing monthly on market intelligence to ensure we take every opportunity to improve our MI forecasting.

• To collaborate with DP Analyst in analysis of forecasts and forecast error reports to improve forecast accuracy (net error and absolute error).

• Collaborate with DP Analyst on new product set up and forecast, a common understanding on cannibalization effects, promo analysis, code switches and product allocation in case of capacity constraints

• To build the pack for the pre-DMR & DMR and facilitate the meeting and obtain the sign off the forecast from the Market Business Director

Specific Accountabilities

• Ensure that the forecast requirements for co-packing and co-packaging are up to date in IBP.

• Follow up on market SLOBs process.

• To support the SKU rationalization process at a market level.
