Job description

Are you looking for a delivery role that allows you to shape the future of one of the world's top universities? The University of Cambridge is seeking a Delivery Manager to lead the development of a new Web Content Management System, transforming the way Cambridge manages and delivers its digital content across the university. This is a unique opportunity to drive change and innovation within a complex digital landscape.

Who you'll be working with

You'll collaborate with stakeholders, Drupal Developers, UX Designers, Technical Product Managers, Technical Leads, Content Designers, Service Owners, and the wider university.

What you will do

You'll oversee the delivery and development of our Web Content Management System, working with both technical and non-technical teams, and supporting the Assisted Content Migration to transition sites from our legacy platform to the new one. As a Senior Delivery Manager, you'll lead Agile delivery across the full lifecycle of digital products and services. You'll work with cross-functional teams to deliver internal products, manage technical delivery, and foster a healthy team culture. With a strong focus on Agile principles, you'll guide teams through iterative development, remove blockers, and promote continuous improvement. You'll be responsible for maintaining team health, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment, and ensuring the team remains motivated, productive, and engaged throughout the project. Additionally, you'll build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex delivery challenges into clear, actionable plans—especially for those less familiar with Agile ways of working.

What we can offer

  • 41 days holiday per year, including bank holidays
  • Hybrid working: work from home and come into the office for team events or workshops approximately once per week, with flexibility to increase in-office days
  • A friendly and supportive team environment
  • The opportunity to shape and influence our working practices

We support flexible and family-friendly working arrangements and are open to non-standard working patterns. While this role is advertised as full-time, we are considering applications from candidates seeking part-time hours and those willing to travel regularly to Cambridge, even if based outside the city.

If you have questions about this vacancy or the application process, please contact recruitment@uis.cam.ac.uk. The University actively promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion, and encourages applications from all sections of society. All employees must be eligible to live and work in the UK.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 18 months initially.

Internal candidates interested in applying via secondment are welcome to do so. We also welcome applications from individuals interested in part-time or flexible working arrangements.

We particularly encourage applications from women and/or candidates from BME backgrounds, as these groups are currently underrepresented in our department/institution/Faculty/School/University.
