Job summary

Canopius in London seeks an experienced Underwriter for Delegated Authorities covering North America. The role involves underwriting delegated business, managing renewals, and developing new opportunities across multiple lines of business with a strong focus on profitability and return on capital.

You will work closely with the Head of Delegated Authorities, build broker relationships, and ensure compliance with FCA guidelines while supporting junior team members and maintaining robust

Qualifications

• Significant experience in the North American delegated authority market.
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage workload priorities.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills; able to interpret large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite delegated business in line with the division's plan and authority.
• Develop and maintain broker/client relationships to position Canopius as a preferred market for NA binder business.
• Underwrite and oversee renewals, and identify/c develop new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with underwriting and support units to optimize internal resources for business activities.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures and FCA guidelines and maintain accurate underwriting records.
• Promote a customer-centric underwriting approach and support junior team members.
