Job summary

Bloomberg L.P. in London is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance the DataHub Experience & Control Plane. You’ll own the full stack—from UI to backend services and control-plane systems—enabling engineers to discover, access, provision, and govern data at scale.

The role spans data cataloging, schemas, lineage, permissions, and AI-enabled workflows, combining frontend and backend expertise to deliver reliable data experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering experience building production systems.
• Frontend apps with React or Vue in production.
• Backend experience in Java, Kotlin, Scala or Go.
• Solid distributed systems, Linux, networking, APIs, reliability.
• End-to-end ownership of features or services.
• Product-minded engineering judgment and good design taste.
• Degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full-stack workflows across UI, APIs, and backend services.
• Build production-grade data experiences for engineers working with data.
• Create control-plane systems to simplify complex data infrastructure.
• Apply design thinking to improve technical workflows and user experience.
• Shape experiences around data discovery, schemas, lineage, and AI workflows.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to platform direction.
