Job summary

OpenSource is seeking a Senior Data Consultant in the UK to lead hands-on data architecture and modeling on Databricks. You’ll design data models, Medallion layers, data quality and governance, working closely with client teams and engineers.

This role emphasizes design and consulting over pure engineering. Candidate will blend data engineering, architecture and consulting experience, with strong SQL and client-facing skills.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Data Engineering, Architecture or Consulting.
• Experience across architecture, modelling, governance and engineering.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical plans.
• Client-facing consulting experience, workshops and requirements gathering.
• Strong SQL and data interrogation skills.
• Hands-on Databricks with Medallion architecture and data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Design data architecture and Medallion patterns across projects.
• Model conceptual, logical and physical data schemas.
• Define data governance, ownership and stewardship.
• Ensure data lineage, metadata and quality.
• Design data integration and transformation approaches.
• Translate requirements into architecture and delivery plans.
