Job summary

Central East Integrated Care Board is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead complex analytical projects across strategic units, translating findings into practical insights for commissioning and population health management. The postholder will develop robust analytical products, ensure reproducible practices, and support implementation within a multidisciplinary setting.

The role requires extensive experience with NHS data, advanced analytics, and mentoring of analytical teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience applying advanced data science, statistical or OR methods to health/public-sector problems.
• Experience leading complex analytical projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong NHS data knowledge and experience with large linked datasets.
• Experience designing/validating advanced analytical models and monitoring.
• Experience providing technical supervision or mentoring in analytics.
• Experience delivering quantitative evaluations of services or interventions.
• Experience deploying analytical models in operational environments or cloud-based tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead analytical projects from problem definition to modelling, validation and implementation.
• Apply advanced methods for population health, commissioning and evaluation analytics.
• Develop, validate and implement analytical products with defined population and outcomes.
• Ensure reproducible programming, peer review and documentation across projects.
• Translate findings into clear recommendations for commissioners and clinicians.
• Promote data science capability and reusable analytical assets.
