Job summary

Central East ICB is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead complex analytical projects across population health and strategic commissioning. You will use advanced data science methods to produce robust analytical products and translate findings into practical decisions for commissioners and clinicians.

You will work with large health datasets, applying reproducible coding practices, validation and documentation, and will supervise junior analysts while building capability across the team.

Qualifications

• Significant experience applying advanced data science methods to health/public-sector problems.
• Experience leading complex analytical projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong NHS data knowledge and large, linked datasets experience.
• Experience designing/validating advanced analytical models with monitoring.
• Experience supervising analytical colleagues and promoting best practices.
• Experience delivering quantitative evaluations of services.
• Experience modelling systems or using operational research methods.
• Experience deploying analytical models in operational environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex analytical projects from problem definition to implementation and monitoring.
• Apply advanced statistical, data science and operational research methods.
• Develop, validate and implement analytical products with clear use, population and limitations.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Provide technical supervision and contribute to reusable analytical assets.
• Manage priorities, risks and dependencies within projects.
