LexisNexis Risk Solutions in the United Kingdom is seeking a Data Scientist III to design and validate AI-driven capabilities for Protégé in PatentSight. You will drive experiments, model development, and evaluation, collaborating with engineers to translate validated approaches into scalable, customer-facing features.

The role focuses on leveraging NLP, LLMs, and retrieval techniques to solve complex IP workflows and deliver insights that inform product decisions and business impact.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative or technical field such as Statistics, CS or Data Science.
• Strong experience in ML, NLP, and LLM-based modeling.
• Strong coding skills in Python and experimenting with AI approaches.

Responsibilities

• Develop NLP, LLM, and generative AI approaches (e.g., RAG, prompts, patent search).
• Define agentic workflows and reasoning strategies for multi-step IP tasks.
• Develop retrieval strategies with hybrid search and evaluation metrics.
• Analyze large-scale IP datasets to improve model performance.
• Establish best practices for model evaluation and benchmarking.
• Translate results into product recommendations and business impact.
• Collaborate with product, IP experts, and engineers to align solutions with user needs.
