Job summary

LexisNexis Intellectual Property (LNIP) seeks a Senior Data Scientist I to shape AI-driven capabilities in Protégé for PatentSight. You will use ML, NLP, and LLM approaches to design experiments, validate models, and collaborate with engineers to deliver scalable, customer-facing IP workflows.

You will define data-driven product recommendations, evaluate performance, and work with IP experts to ensure solutions meet user needs while advancing state-of-the-art patent analytics.

Qualifications

• Degree in a quantitative or technical field (Statistics, CS, Mathematics, Data Science).
• Strong experience in ML, NLP, and LLM-based modeling.
• Hands-on experience designing and running experiments with model evaluation.
• Solid Python programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop NLP, LLM, and generative AI approaches for Protégé in PatentSight.
• Define agentic workflows and reasoning strategies for multi-step IP tasks.
• Develop retrieval strategies using hybrid search and assess relevance.
• Analyse large IP datasets to improve model performance.
• Establish best practices for model evaluation and benchmarking.
• Translate results into product recommendations and business impact.
• Collaborate with product, IP experts, and engineers to meet user needs.
