Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking a Senior/Staff Data Scientist to shape how PlayStation measures product and commercial impact through advanced experimentation, causal inference and applied data science.

You will lead measurement methodologies, collaborate with product and engineering teams, and drive evidence-based decisions across the organization, influencing platform development and analytics practices.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, CS or Data Science; PhD preferred.
• 5+ years of experience applying experimentation, causal inference, statistical modelling and measurement science to business problems.
• Deep expertise in experimental design, A/B testing and modern causal inference methods.
• Experience applying advanced data science, ML and statistical modelling techniques to business problems.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for large-scale analytical workflows.
• Experience developing reusable analytical methodologies or libraries and influencing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply innovative measurement methodologies across experimentation, causal inference and analytics.
• Design robust measurement approaches for randomized, quasi-experimental and observational studies.
• Research and prototype statistical, ML and AI techniques to solve real-world measurement challenges.
• Apply data science methods to support complex business decisions and product enhancements.
• Promote best practices for experiment design and analysis across product and business teams.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to evolve the experimentation platform and tooling.
