Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an Associate Director, Data Science to lead the DSAA team's analytics strategy across early to late-stage drug development. You will shape frameworks, set standards, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to drive data-driven decisions.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on modelling: patient segmentation, biomarker discovery, NLP and causal ML on multimodal data, while mentoring a small team and promoting reproducible software practices.

Qualifications

• PhD in quantitative field with 6+ years in academia/industry; or Master's with 8+ years.
• Proven data science and statistical analysis on clinical trial or health data.
• Experience leading models on high-dimensional data and time-to-event outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and methodological guidance across drug development programs.
• Lead exploratory and confirmatory analyses across diverse data types.
• Shape analytical strategy for trial design, endpoints, biomarkers.
• Represent DSAA in cross-functional meetings with data-driven input.
• Lead development of patient segmentation, biomarker discovery, precision medicine.
• Drive integration and visualization of omics, imaging, and EHR data.
• Oversee statistical methods for survival, longitudinal, causal inference.
• Define scalable analytics pipelines using Python, R, SQL, cloud.
• Mentor and manage a small team of data scientists.
• Collaborate with statisticians to shape SAPs.
