Job summary

IC24 seeks a Data Protection Manager to lead information governance, data protection and information security across the organisation. You will work with senior leaders, clinical teams and external partners to ensure regulatory compliance and protect patient data while supporting high-quality care.

Based in Ashford, Kent, this hybrid role focuses on delivering operational data protection, responding to requests, and advising on governance improvements.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in Data Protection, Information Governance, Freedom of Information or Cyber Security.
• Holds a recognised Data Protection or Information Governance qualification (or is actively working towards one).
• Keeps up to date with evolving legislation, guidance and best practice in this area.
• Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, data protection legislation and information governance frameworks.
• Experience working within the NHS, healthcare or another highly regulated environment.
• Able to interpret complex legislation and provide practical, outcome-focused advice to colleagues and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee information governance and data protection activity, ensuring GDPR/DSPT compliance.
• Lead on SARs, FOIs, DPIAs and information sharing, managing risks early.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to support cyber security initiatives.
• Provide expert advice to colleagues and senior leaders on data protection matters.
• Use audits and reviews to identify opportunities to strengthen governance and reduce risk.
