Job summary

The Trade Desk is seeking a software engineer to join our User Trail analytics and observability platform. You will own end-to-end delivery of features that help non-engineering teams access, understand, and trust our data across the company.

You will work on backend services and data pipelines at scale, partnering with product and business stakeholders to translate questions into robust, self-serve tools. We value clarity, reliability, and mentorship as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating backend services or data pipelines at scale.
• Familiarity with modern data warehouse/lakehouse platforms and event-driven pipelines.
• Clear communication with engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Care for reliability, monitoring, and failure modes of systems.
• Collaborative across teams with mentoring and code-review involvement.
• Ability to turn loosely defined problems into concrete, scoped plans.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve tools for company-wide data discovery, dashboards, and the AI-powered assistant.
• Own end-to-end delivery of significant features in the event-tracking and data platform from design to rollout.
• Extend access governance to more teams while balancing visibility and security.
• Serve as a go-to expert for parts of the system (SDKs, ingestion, data warehouse) and mentor others.
• Partner with support, trading, business, and product teams to translate needs into tools and features.
• Raise the bar on quality and testing practices across the team.
