Job summary

Octopus Energy is building a production-grade platform to enable AI-enabled tools and data products at scale. You will join the Systems and Data / Transformation team to translate architecture specs into robust, governed infrastructure.

You’ll design and implement enterprise-grade identity, access, and governance across human users, systems, and AI agents, while aligning with Databricks and Unity Catalog patterns. This role offers autonomy in a lean team and significant impact.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing enterprise-grade federated identity, token exchange, and access lifecycle management.
• Hands-on IaC with Terraform and production CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience hardening API gateway patterns and access policy enforcement.
• Experience across Azure, AWS, or Databricks ecosystems.
• Autonomous engineer in lean team with clear trade-offs in plain English.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain IaC using Terraform across development, test, and production environments.
• Strengthen CI/CD practices in GitHub Actions, establishing repeatable deployment patterns and release controls.
• Design and implement federated identity architecture across Okta, Entra ID, and ZScaler.
• Build identity, token exchange, and permission propagation models for humans and AI agents.
• Implement API gateway controls: authentication, routing, rate limiting, and logging.
• Harden AI gateway and agent orchestration layers into production-ready capabilities.
• Establish observability and FinOps, including cost attribution by team and use case.
