Job summary

Great Yellow is hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build and own data pipelines feeding both the customer platform and internal tooling. The role blends data engineering with software development, requiring hands-on coding in a Cloud environment and collaboration with an Senior Software Developer.

You’ll stand up diverse pipelines, make architectural calls, and ensure reliability via monitoring and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Real software engineering experience with production code
• Strong in TypeScript/JavaScript and React
• Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, or Cloudflare)
• Production data pipelines across heterogeneous sources
• Strong SQL and data-modelling skills
• ELT/ETL experience with dbt or similar
• Autonomy with ownership of a work-stream (likely 5+ years)
• Ability to switch between data engineering and software engineering
• Excellent communication translating SME knowledge into technical solutions
• Within commuting distance of London
