Job summary

The Very Group is seeking a hands-on senior engineer to lead data transformation efforts and shape how we build, scale, and improve data pipelines. You’ll work with modern cloud technologies to evolve our data platform and influence engineering standards across the team, while mentoring others and delivering real impact for millions of customers.

You’ll collaborate with product, platform and engineering teams to deliver meaningful outcomes, focusing on reliability, performance, and scalability

Qualifications

• Designing and delivering production-grade data solutions.
• Experience with cloud technologies, AWS preferred.
• Strong coding skills in Python and SQL/Java/Scala.
• Experience with large-scale data platforms, data lakes or warehouses.
• Understanding modern data concepts like Lakehouse and analytics.

Responsibilities

• Designing and building scalable, reliable data pipelines powering key decisions.
• Shaping a cloud-based data platform, improving performance and usability.
• Taking ownership from idea through production and beyond.
• Mentoring other engineers and raising engineering standards.
• Collaborating with product and engineering teams to deliver outcomes.
• Ensuring releases are stable, observable, and well-documented.
