Job summary

Frontline Group is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build and improve data pipelines, models, and assets underpinning our data platform. You will balance delivery speed with reliability while collaborating across technical and business teams in an informal hybrid setup.

The role focuses on scalable data pipelines, data quality, continuous improvement, and empowering analytics capabilities across our publishing and retail operations.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and experience building data pipelines and transformations.
• Experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud-based data platform.
• Proven ETL/ELT development experience in production environments.
• Solid data modelling, structures and pipeline design understanding.
• Experience with workflow automation, scheduling and monitoring.
• Troubleshooting and problem solving across data systems.
• Understanding of data testing, reconciliation and quality controls.
• Scripting/programming experience, particularly Python.
• Experience with orchestration and version control tooling.
• Ability to work independently while balancing speed with resilience and maintainability.
• SAS programming skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformations to support reporting, operations and analytics.
• Develop trusted, reusable datasets and data assets within the Frontline data platform.
• Implement and improve data engineering standards, controls, monitoring, and automation.
• Investigate and resolve data issues, pipeline failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, reporting teams, and Data Quality & Assurance Analysts to deliver effective data solutions.
• Support ongoing development of the data platform and mentor Data Engineers.
