Job summary

Convatec is seeking a senior Data Solution Designer to translate business requirements into detailed, build-ready data solution designs within a Microsoft Fabric landscape. You will lead design activities, ensure reuse and governance, and coach junior engineers in a hybrid Paddington-based role.

The position emphasizes architecture-minded delivery, strong data governance, and collaboration across architecture, engineering and DevOps to ensure CI/CD readiness and secure, scalable data platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering, solution design or data architecture.
• Experience delivering end-to-end data platforms.
• Strong cloud data platform experience.
• Proven ability to establish reusable design patterns and standards.
• HLD/LLD design with governance and architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed design for data and BI solutions, including source-to-target mapping and transformation logic.
• Translate high-level architecture into clear, build-ready designs.
• Produce robust design artefacts: data models, interfaces, lineage, documentation.
• Ensure designs are reusable and can be adopted across domains.
• Collaborate with Lead Engineering and DevOps for CI/CD readiness.
• Embed data quality, reconciliation and observability into designs from the outset.
• Represent the Data & Analytics team at Design Review Board for approvals.
• Provide design assurance and governance across projects.
