Job summary

Immersive Labs is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager - Data Engineering to lead and scale our data engineering team from the UK hub in Bristol. You will own strategy, architecture modernization, and platform reliability, partnering with product, analytics, and commercial teams to deliver impactful data solutions.

You'll blend technical credibility with people leadership, mentoring engineers, removing blockers, and driving data excellence across Immersive. Hybrid working in the UK is available.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading data engineering, analytics engineering, or platform teams (3+ years).
• Strong coaching and mentorship style with a focus on outcomes.
• Deep understanding of modern data architectures, data integration, orchestration, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on with cloud data warehouses and data quality patterns (BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).
• Ability to articulate data strategy to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 8+ data engineers, fostering learning, inclusion, and excellence.
• Define and execute data engineering strategy aligned with product priorities.
• Modernize data infrastructure including data warehouse, orchestration, and tooling.
• Set and monitor team performance metrics and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and commercial teams as a data leader.
• Advocate for scalable, secure, future-proof data solutions and best practices.
• Represent data engineering to senior leadership, communicating value of investments.
• Nurture an inclusive, high-performing culture and empower team growth.
