Job summary

Channel 5 is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and lead the data engineering capability for 5 Streaming in-house. You will own pipelines, data models and quality controls that join streaming, advertising, marketing and registration data into a single trusted view of content and audience performance.

Qualifications

• Senior data engineer with ownership of a data platform and delivery alongside roadmap ownership.
• Expert SQL and Python with production ETL/ELT experience.
• Hands-on with a modern cloud data warehouse and orchestration tools.
• Strong knowledge of digital and product analytics platforms and event tracking.
• Experience joining behavioural, advertising and CRM datasets with unified metrics.
• Track record of data quality monitoring, governance and trusted metrics definitions.
• Experience building experimentation capabilities for non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, build and operation of data pipelines and models powering streaming reporting.
• Create a single joined view of content and audience performance across data sources.
• Define and reconcile core streaming metrics and business logic.
• Govern analytics implementation, tagging and naming standards across platforms in collaboration with product, tech and QA.
• Establish data quality monitoring, alerting, and scorecards with clear ownership.
• Build an experimentation capability with templated test setups and instrumentation standards.
• Develop in-house data modelling for churn, reactivation, ad targeting, segmentation and personalization.
• Own the technical data roadmap including AI and automation opportunities to improve accuracy and cost.
