Job summary

Ohme is a fast-growing cleantech scale-up in London, building a data- and AI-first residential EV charging platform. We’re scaling globally with partners like VW and Mercedes, and we seek a Senior Data Engineer to own data products that power Ohme’s core operations and its smart energy platform.

You will design, build and scale backend data services, ingestion engines and APIs with a focus on low latency, reliability and product-minded thinking.

Qualifications

• Experience building data platforms and APIs on AWS and Snowflake.
• Strong IaC and Python skills.
• Experience with real-time streaming (Kinesis/Airflow) bonus.
• Background in software engineering with CI/CD, TDD, Agile.
• Comfort with Git and the command line.
• Knowledge of the EV industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data and software teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Architect and build scalable data products and APIs (REST/GraphQL/Event-driven).
• Automate deployment of data infrastructure using AWS CDK.
• Treat data as a product focusing on latency, stability, and user impact.
• Monitor and optimize data system performance for reliability.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through testing and validation.
