Role Overview

This role focuses on contributing to the crafting, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, evaluating, modifying, deploying, and documenting data components (data architecture, logical and physical data models, database objects, and database administration) that meet the needs of customer-facing applications, business applications, and internal end-user applications.

Organizational Context

Member of a data management and database development team reporting to an Engineering Director or Director of Technical Delivery.

How will you make an impact in this role?
  • Review data requirements, data stories, and corresponding data sources and architecture.
  • Document data requirements and data models, maintaining them to ensure seamless integration into existing architectures.
  • Support management of data assets according to enterprise standards, guidelines, and policies.
  • Understand processing requirements including data and transaction volumes, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Assist in building and improving database design and infrastructure to support business needs.
  • Participate in database design reviews and testing.
  • Provide production environment support for database systems.
  • Collaborate closely with business and product teams for changes and implementations.
  • Actively participate in agile teams, following development practices.
  • Identify opportunities to adopt innovative technologies.
  • Engage in peer reviews and work on prioritized features during sprints.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of software development experience or related experience with knowledge of Agile, Cassandra, data modeling, database clustering, tuning, and monitoring tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field; advanced degrees preferred.

  • Strong understanding of data structures, database management, and industry standards.
  • Experience with infrastructure technologies, data analysis, and leadership qualities.
