The ML Engineer (Natural Language Processing) II is a mid-level role responsible for developing and maintaining NLP-based products. You will work closely with senior engineers and non-technical stakeholders, contributing to the entire lifecycle of NLP products, focusing on product design, cost efficiency, and speed. The ideal candidate will have skills in software programming, ML, mathematics, and DevOps, with good communication skills to demystify ML algorithms for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities
  1. Curation, cleaning, and maintenance of datasets for NLP models.
  2. Develop, optimize, and deploy NLP models.
  3. Collaborate with product stakeholders to capture and establish requirements for NLP models.
  4. Design NLP products for inference in collaboration with product managers and engineering teams.
  5. Manage dataset requirements, data acquisition, annotation, and version control for NLP applications.
  6. Monitor ML models in production, set metrics to identify drift, and implement corrective measures.
  7. Implement tools for monitoring product inference performance.
  8. Maintain technical documentation related to datasets, models, and infrastructure.
  9. Engage in continual learning to stay updated with latest trends and best practices in ML.
Qualifications & Skills

Must have:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  2. 3+ years of experience in ML, Data Science, or related areas.
  3. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML libraries like PyTorch and scikit-learn.
  4. Experience with LLM frameworks such as LlamaIndex or Langchain.
  5. Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Understanding of ML algorithms and models like GPT, BERT.
  7. Experience designing ML inference products in cloud environments.
  8. Ability to manage ML projects from start to finish.
  9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  10. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  11. Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
  12. Experience with version control systems like Git.

Nice to have:

  1. Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, ML, or AI.
  2. Experience with Generative AI models.
  3. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  4. API development experience with FastAPI or Flask.
